Annabelle Monthly – 4 Months

4 months down, 8 more to go till our girl is a year old, and wow does that feel so weird to say and think about. We were watching Annabelle sleep yesterday and it hit us all over again that she’s not a squishy, tired little newborn anymore. Our Annabelle Jane is a third of the way through her first year of life. In four more months we’ll be starting to plan for her first birthday party, and four more months after that we will be celebrating her first year of life!

Measurements – Well, Annabelle’s still our little small fry weighing in at 12 pound 5 ounces this month but that being said she did gain a whole pound in one months so we’re pretty proud of her for that! 🙂 Likewise our little Princess Sweet P is measuring at 25 inches for height which puts her at about 15 percentile, which is just fine with us since she’s meeting all her developmental milestones and looks healthy/has some little rolls on on her body.

Best Moment – There was a lot of great things that happened this month but the best by far would have to be having Annabelle publicly dedicated to our God. We say publicly because her life was dedicated to our Lord long before Sunday, April 10, 2016. We dedicated her life the moment we found out He was giving her to us a year prior on Thursday, April 9, 2015 and literally have been rededicating her to Him in our hearts and through the way we love and parent her in our family every day since. This dedication was just an outward investment of that inward decision we made. It was still a really great moment though and now a treasured memory as we were able to have our family, church family and close friends there to support and encourage us in that decision.

So fun fact, Annabelle wore the same Christening Gown that her Daddy, Grandma and Great-Grandma all wore when they were dedicated! All four generations <3

Worst Moment – Earlier this month Annabelle had to get a couple of shots since we are spacing out her vaccines just incase she was to have a reactions so we could pin point which one it was that didn’t agree with her. Her first round was pretty easy for her (her momma still cried like a baby for her though lol) because it was only one shot and then an oral vaccine. She literally let out one whimper and that was it. Pretty painless. This time was much different. Poor baby got stuck at the same time, one shot for each leg and she whaled for a good five minutes after it happened while Blair rocked her back a forth. She just kept staring at the both of us like “What’s the matter with you guys!?! Why did you let them do that to me?!?” It was heartbreaking! On top of that she had a little reaction that resulted in a mild fever and general crankiness for the next couple days. But hey at least she is protected (for the most part) from contracting some seriously deadly diseases!

Favorite Things – Annabelle’s newest favorite thing to do by far is rolling over! She’s been rolling over both ways for about two months now but it was never consistent and each time she did it she always seemed surprised like “Whoa! What just happened!? How did I get turned around?!” About two weeks ago though Matt came into the bathroom one Friday morning while Blair was getting ready and said “You have to stop what you’re doing right now and go look at Annabelle with me!” We walked into her room to find Annabelle rolled over on her belly, propped up on her elbows and starring at both of us with a big grin on her face like “O hey there mom and dad! Good morning! Look what I can do now!” lol She was so proud of herself! From that moment on she hasn’t stopped rolling. We will put Annabelle on her back and she will throw her legs over to the side and roll herself up onto her tummy. She loves being on her stomach! She even likes to sleep on her stomach! We’ll lay her down on her back but somewhere between when we go to bed and when we wake up the girl has shimmied her way back onto her belly and is laying in her crib peacefully sucking her fingers, or sometimes her thumb.

The first time we found her rolled over on her tummy together on the morning of Friday, April 8, 2016! Girl's been on a roll ever since! <3

Highlights – Lots of fun stuff happened this month for our little lady A. To kick it off we celebrated Annabelle’s first Easter and she had her first egg hunt with her cousin Harrison. Let’s face it though, it was mainly Daddy that was helping her hunt for those eggs this year. lol

Annabelle also got to visit with her Uncle John and cousins Mary and Evie for Easter which was a ton of fun! We also went a visited Daddy for our first family dinner date since Annabelle’s been born. Matt’s team was so excited to finally meet her since they have only gotten to see photos and pictures until now.

We also found out that Annabelle is going to be welcoming two girl cousins (one on each side of the family) come August this year! We are so excited for her to have some playmates around her age! They will be 8 months apart which is going to make for some seriously fun times in our family, especially during the holidays and extended family get togethers! Annabelle also has gotten really great a grabbing things and bringing them to her and she is also starting to recognize her hands and feet! Since the weather has gotten nicer we have started going for more regular family runs. We really want to run the Turkey Trot this year on Thanksgiving Day with Annabelle and a couple of friends! So that is a big motivator to help us get back into shape, along with being an active, healthy family!

And to top it all off this month marked one year since we moved into our home (3/14/15-3/14/16) and one year since we found out that we were expecting Annabelle (4/9/15-4/9/16)! ❤

Well thats all we got for this month folks!

Much love & prayer,

Matt & Blair
